Certified by the International Association of Trichologists — Backed by over a decade of scientific nquiry
In 2019, Shannel Watson received formal certification from the International Association of Trichologists (IAT) — a globally recognised qualification in the clinical assessment and treatment of hair and scalp disorders. But this milestone was not the beginning — it was the culmination of a journey that started in 2006, when she first began researching the biology of hair as part of her undergraduate studies in molecular science.
Her path into trichology was never superficial. Shannel’s foundation was built in laboratories, libraries, and clinical trials — studying the cellular and biochemical processes that drive hair growth, inflammation, and loss. By the time she formalised her credentials with the IAT, she had already spent more than a decade investigating hair through the lens of molecular biology, biochemistry, endocrinology, and diagnostic science.
Certification with the IAT brought together her scientific background with specialist clinical trichology training — ensuring that her practice is both medically informed and internationally accredited.
