CASE 1
Bi-temporal thinning + chronic shedding
3-month results
Presented with significant thinning around both temples. This had been gradually worsening for 3 years. Trichoscopy revealed a more complex picture, with early follicular miniaturisation and high hair diameter inter variability.
1. Assessment findings
Borderline iron status, low folate intake, inadequate daily protein and repeated tension around the temples.
2. Strategy
Targeted nutrition plan, lower-tension styling, scalp support and structured monitoring.
3. Outcome at three months
Reduced shedding with visible improvement in temple density and early regrowth along the hairline.
CASE 2
Bi- temporal thinning
Six-month results
Attended following more than a year of persistent daily shedding, accompanied by progressive thinning across the scalp and around both temples. Previous blood tests had been reported as normal, but a comprehensive blood test revealed drivers that are known to contribute to hair loss.
1. Assessment findings
Low vitamin B12, borderline vitamin D and inadequate daily protein, alongside persistent shedding and progressive thinning across the scalp and temples.
2. Strategy
Correction of vitamin B12 and vitamin D, a higher-protein nutrition plan, scalp support and structured monitoring.
3. Outcome at eight months
Daily shedding had reduced markedly, with improved overall density and visible regrowth around both temples.
CASE 3
Androgenic alopecia
Six-month results
Attended with progressive thinning and loss of density consistent with androgenetic alopecia, with more noticeable change across the temples and central scalp. Trichoscopy showed follicle miniaturisation and variation in hair shaft diameter, supporting the diagnosis, while comprehensive blood testing identified additional biological factors that could be contributing to progression and treatment response.

Low vitamin D, low zinc, high cholesterol and inadequate diet, alongside persistent miniaturisation.
2. Strategy
Correction of vitamin D and zinc. Additonal soluble fibre in diet and prescription topical medication.

Bi- temporal thinning
Six-month results
Attended with long term shedding and noticeable recession of the temples. Client had seen a trichologist for PRP and at the start was on 2% minoxidil.
1. Assessment findings
Low RBC magnesium and high cholesterol.
2. Strategy
Correction cholesterol levels.
3. Outcome at eight months
Improved density within 6 months.

Excessive breakage
Six-month results
Attended with significant breakage, poor length retention and reduced hair quality following repeated chemical processing.

Examination showed widespread shaft fragility and breakage consistent with chemical damage
2. Strategy
The treatment plan focused on reducing further chemical stress, improving fibre protection and conditioning, supporting scalp health and allowing new growth to progress with less breakage over time.

The full assessment includes a detailed review of your hair-loss history, symptoms, health, nutrition, medication, hormonal factors and hair-care practices.
Your hair and scalp are examined using trichoscopy to assess density, breakage, follicle activity, miniaturisation, inflammation and other relevant features. Comprehensive blood testing is also included to investigate nutritional, thyroid, inflammatory and metabolic factors that may be affecting hair growth.
Your blood-test results are reviewed alongside your consultation, scalp examination and trichoscopy findings.
The results are explained clearly, including any findings that may be relevant to shedding, follicle activity or scalp health. You will then receive personalised recommendations covering treatment, nutrition, supplementation, scalp care, monitoring and medical referral where appropriate.
The assessment is designed to identify the most likely causes and contributing factors behind your hair loss.
Where the findings are consistent with conditions such as telogen effluvium, traction-related loss, breakage or androgenetic miniaturisation, this will be explained. Some conditions require confirmation or treatment by a GP or dermatologist, particularly where scarring hair loss, autoimmune disease or another medical condition is suspected.
You will receive a personalised plan based on the assessment findings and your individual circumstances.
Ideally, attend with the scalp and affected areas clearly accessible.
Avoid applying hair fibres, root concealers, heavy oils or products that may obscure the scalp. Where possible, do not attend with tightly secured styles covering the temple area.
You may be asked to remove a wig during the examination. If you wear braids, extensions or another fixed style, the affected areas must remain accessible for examination and trichoscopy.
If this is not possible, please bring pictures that depict your hair and scalp condition.
Hair growth is gradual, and response times vary according to the cause, duration and severity of the hair loss, as well as the activity of the affected follicles.
Changes in shedding may be noticed earlier, while visible improvements in density usually require 12 months of treatment and monitoring. Results vary between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

If the examination or trichoscopy identifies features associated with a scarring alopecia, early medical investigation may be recommended.
You may be advised to see your GP or a dermatologist for further assessment, prescription treatment or a scalp biopsy. Ongoing trichology support can then be coordinated around the medical findings and treatment plan.
No treatment can guarantee results because every case of hair loss is different. My approach focuses on identifying the specific biological and clinical factors contributing to your hair loss and combining them with the treatment pathway most likely to produce a meaningful response. For many people, this means slowing or stabilising hair loss and achieving significant improvements in shedding, density or hair quality over time
